In 2003, Sofie graduated as master in the political sciences from the Leuven University (K.U.L.). In 2008, she obtained her law degree from the University of Brussels (V.U.B.).

During her law studies, she gained experience as Professional Support Lawyer at the labour law department of the law firm Stibbe. In 2008, she was called to the Brussels bar and started working as a lawyer with the law firm Claeys & Engels, where she continued specializing in labour law.

Since December 2011, Sofie is part of Curia's social law team. She practices different aspects of labour and social security law (consultancy as well as litigation).
